Huckabee Really Nails it on the L.A. Pot Issue. Got Glaucoma?

Who knew there was so much glaucoma in L.A.?

If 51 percent of voters remember to show up at the polls, they can legalize pot in a state. But they can’t force cities to accept it…The California Supreme Court handed down a landmark ruling that may severely limit marijuana sales. After voters approved medical marijuana in 1996, pot dispensaries popped up everywhere, peddling weed as a cure for every ailment but the munchies. Cities that didn't want pot peddlers by every school tried to banish them with zoning laws, but pot proponents challenged that as unconstitutional. The case involved the city of Riverside, which has shut down 56 cannabis dispensaries since 2009. The court has ruled that local governments do have the power to zone marijuana dispensaries out of existence.

About 200 cities already have, and you can expect more now. As an alternative, cities
could allow pot dispensaries and regulate them, but one legal expert said only cities as liberal as Los Angeles would go to the trouble. At last count, L.A. had about 700 medical marijuana dispensaries. Who knew there was so much glaucoma in L.A.?
