That "network" is Organizing for Action, and "very soon" is TODAY!

President Obama and his radical, leftist allies have your gun rights clearly in their sights. Today, March 28, the President hosted a White House event with mothers who support gun control. Law enforcement officials and victims of gun violence also are expected to attend.

Obama's anti-gun "show" is part of something called the National Day to Demand Action. The sponsors of this radical-left effort to demonize gun owners and threaten your Second Amendment rights include the President's ultra-liberal activist arm, Organizing for Action, and Mayors Against Illegal Guns, led by New York

City's nanny mayor, Michael Bloomberg.

Here's the announcement of today's event from the website, DemandAction.org:

"Today, supporters across the country are joining a National Day to Demand Action to end gun violence. ... (B)ut to make sure that reform is meaningful we need Congress to pass the strongest possible legislation. ... Please call your Senators today and tell them you Demand Action."

Once connected with a Senate office, the organization asks supporters to tell the staff that they support the Senate bill that "requires criminal background checks for every gun sale in America." It also instructs citizens to ask their Senators "to support legislation that bans assault weapons and limits high-capacity magazines."

Back in January, Obama's former deputy campaign manager, Stephanie Cutter, told MSNBC:

"President Obama's network across this country, grassroots individuals, who organize, volunteered with their time to get the president re-elected are much more powerful than the NRA lobby. And I think that you can expect to see that network activated very soon."

That "network" is Organizing for Action, and "very soon" is TODAY!

+ + The Left Won't Stop At Background Checks

But Obama and the Left have already failed in their most recent attempt to ban "assault weapons" and "high-capacity magazines." Two weeks ago, a Senate Judiciary Committee approved Sen. Dianne Feinstein's (D-CA) proposal to ban "assault weapons" and "high-capacity magazines" by a 10-8 vote, strictly along party lines.

But just days later, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) announced that Feinstein's proposal won't be part of the Senate's main gun-control bill because it didn't have the needed votes to pass. Reid did promise that the "assault weapons" ban will be added as an amendment to the bill. But that's expected to be defeated as well.

Still, that hasn't stopped the Left's full-court press against your Second Amendment rights.

Yesterday, in a conference call organized by Mayors Against Illegal Guns, Vice President Joe Biden said the White House and their leftist allies won't stop with just expanding background checks:

"That doesn't mean this is the end of the process. This is the beginning of the process."

You see, Stuart, the government won't be satisfied with just winning the battle of background checks. Next, they'll come after your guns too. In an interview with NPR last week, Biden said:

"Military-style assault weapons are -- these are weapons of war. They don't belong in the street."

Grassfire agrees that "assault weapons" don't belong "in the street." Firearms also don't belong in the hands of criminals or the mentally ill. But according to the Constitution, guns DO belong in the hands of law-abiding American citizens who want to protect their life and property.

Feinstein's bill labeled more than 150 firearms as "assault weapons," including certain pistols, rifles and shotguns. So if universal background checks for every gun sale in the U.S. is approved, liberty-loving Americans need to ask themselves, "What's next?"

Let them know that you DON'T support Senate Bill 649, which requires criminal background checks for every gun sale in America, or any other legislation that limits your Second Amendment rights by banning "assault weapons" and "high-capacity magazines."
